
The carrier’s first commercial flight from Hanoi departed at 6.15 am from Noi Bai International Airport on February 25 and landed in Danang later that morning. A separate service left Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City at 10.30 am for the central coastal city.
Under its operating plan, the Ho Chi Minh City-Danang route will run two flights daily from February 25. The Hanoi-Danang route will also operate two flights a day, with frequency set to increase to four daily services from March 1 to meet market demand.
The airline said its entry into the busy Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City-Danang corridor would expand choices in carriers, schedules and services, while strengthening connectivity between major economic and tourism hubs.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to open the Danang-Phu Quoc route from March 15 as it builds a broader network linking key tourist destinations, with Phu Quoc positioned as its central hub.
By the end of February, the airline had operated a fleet of 10 aircraft and secured the necessary safety and maintenance certifications in line with regulations from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
On February 18, the carrier signed an agreement in Washington DC to purchase 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft in a deal valued at about USD 22.5 billion. The order is expected to support future long-haul expansion and fleet development through 2030.
The new services are forecast to stimulate trade and tourism flows among Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, further strengthening links between Vietnam’s leading travel destinations.
