According to preliminary statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), domestic airlines operated 210,341 flights between January and September 2025, of which 135,922 flights departed on time, accounting for 64.6 per cent.

Only Bamboo Airways and VASCO maintained an on-time performance rate above 80 per cent. Bamboo Airways topped the list with 82.1 per cent of its flights departing on schedule, followed closely by VASCO with 81.8 per cent.

Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines recorded average on-time rates of 78.5 per cent, 70.6 per cent, and 70 per cent, respectively. Vietjet Air reported the lowest punctuality rate, at 55 per cent, below the national average.

During the same period, 1,380 flights were cancelled, representing 0.7 per cent of total operations. Bamboo Airways again led the industry with the lowest cancellation rate of 0.2 per cent, followed by Vietjet Air with 0.6 per cent, Vietnam Airlines with 0.8 per cent, Pacific Airlines with 0.9 per cent, and both VASCO and Vietravel Airlines with 1.2 per cent each.

CAAV noted that extreme weather in recent months had posed significant challenges to domestic aviation, directly affecting punctuality and forcing airlines to prioritise safety and operational flexibility.

In late September and early October 2025, prolonged heavy rain caused by storm circulation affected several airports in northern and north-central Vietnam. At Noi Bai International Airport, torrential rain, strong winds, and visibility below one kilometre led to widespread flight delays, diversions, and holding patterns.

The Northern Airports Authority reported that on September 30 alone, there were 194 delayed flights and 34 diversions due to adverse weather conditions.
