
The delegation, from the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Azerbaijan, visited key attractions including Cat Cat Village and Sun World Fansipan Legend, while holding meetings with local tourism firms.
Held alongside the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2026, the programme focused on developing tour products, improving service quality and boosting inbound tourism.
Officials said the famtrip provided a platform to discuss tour routes, pricing, distribution channels and joint marketing, while giving international operators deeper insight into Sapa’s tourism potential.
Participants expressed strong impressions of the area’s landscapes, cuisine, hospitality and service standards.
Authorities said Lao Cai is working to enhance tourism offerings by focusing on authentic cultural, culinary and community based experiences to differentiate Sapa as a destination.
In the first quarter of 2026, the province welcomed about 3.5 million visitors, including more than 515,000 international arrivals, signalling a recovery in foreign tourism, particularly from China, South Korea, India and the Philippines.
