Foreign tourists in Hoi An, Danang
The Danang Tourism Promotion Centre has introduced a two-day course for members of the city’s tourist cyclo team and staff of its Visitor Support Centre.
The programme aims to enhance drivers Korean-language skills and cultural understanding so they can provide more friendly and professional services.
Danang’s cyclo tour is known as a distinctive, slow-paced way to explore the city, carrying visitors past landmarks such as the Cham Sculpture Museum, APEC Park, the Bach Dang riverside, Han Market and Tran Phu Street, as well as everyday scenes along the Han River.
To broaden its reach, the tour has been listed on major online travel platforms, including Klook, GetYourGuide and Kkday. Klook alone recorded nearly 100 bookings in just over three months, most of them from South Korean travellers.
The Tourism Promotion Centre said it will work with service providers to boost promotion through online travel agencies and tour operators, while continuing to train drivers in foreign languages, soft skills and cultural knowledge.
South Koreans remain Danang’s largest international market, with more than two million arrivals in the first 11 months, accounting for over 28 per cent of the city’s foreign visitors. They are known for steady spending, longer stays and high demand for experience-based activities.
Founded in 2003, Danang’s tourist cyclo team operates under the Tourism Promotion Centre. The 83-vehicle fleet features uniform, modern designs, and drivers are required to meet health standards, follow traffic laws, possess basic foreign-language skills and have knowledge of local attractions.
