Covering 577 hectares in Vinh Luong Commune and Vinh Hoa Ward in Nha Trang City, the area includes 275 hectares of planted forest and 301 hectares of planned forest land. Its diverse terrain and scenic landscapes offer strong potential for nature-based and adventure tourism.
However, the site currently lacks formal management, and most tourism activity remains unregulated. In the dry season, the area faces a heightened risk of forest fires and presents safety risks to visitors.

In response, the department has proposed that the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee instruct Nha Trang City to strengthen fire prevention and rescue efforts and issue temporary regulations for sightseeing and trekking at Co Tien Mountain.
The Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association will lead the development of a trekking tourism project to sustainably unlock the site’s potential, improve visitor experiences, and ensure professional oversight and support.
The plan will form the legal basis for turning Co Tien Mountain into a major trekking destination for sports tourists, nature lovers and adventure travellers.
