Thanh Hoa to dump 500,000 cubic metres of dredged sediment

Authorities in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa have approved dumping approximately 500,000 cubic metres of sediment dredged from the sea area off Nghi Son Town.

Under the decision signed by the Vice Chairman of the provincial people’s committee, Le Duc Giang, Long Son Industrials Co., Ltd. has been assigned to dump the dredged sediment from the anchorage area of Long Son Port.

Long Son Port 

The dredged sediment is likely to mostly contain fine sand and silt, with no radioactive substances, toxins, or hazardous waste. Starting on January 22, it will also be dumped into a 175-hectare sea area off Nghi Son Town over two years.

The firm can only dump in the designated sea area within the set time. It will be fully responsible for any possible environmental incidents.
