Speaking at a Friday meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development about the storm, a representative from NCHMF, Nguyen Van Huong, said that as of 8 am on October 25, the storm was moving west at a speed of about 15-20 km/h.

Central localities from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen would see strong wind and heavy rain triggered by the storm from the afternoon of October 26," Huong said. "Some areas may experience rainfall of between 200-300 mm from October 26-29."

In an urgent telegram sent to relevant ministries, agencies and localities in the central region on October 24, PM Pham Minh Chinh asked for urgent prevention and control measures, including calling in fishing vessels to storm shelters, reinforcing public and residential works, and evacuating people from flood and landslide prone areas.
