The participants, who are staff from various agencies in Danang, planted 175 coconut trees together along Hoang Sa Road in Son Tra District.

Municipal Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and many other city officials attended the event.

Pham Le Phuong Vy, a resident from An Hai Nam Ward, said tree planting has long been a cultural tradition in the city, helping to expand green spaces. “My group is always excited to join tree-planting activities after the Tet Lunar New Year holiday. We hope to see more initiatives like this so we can contribute to protecting the environment,” Vy added.

Earlier, the Danang People's Committee unveiled a plan to plant 3,500 coconut trees along the city's beaches.

The tree planting will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, starting in December 2024, is set to conclude by late March 2025, while the second phase will run from April to the end of the third quarter of 2025.
