Vietnamese Brian Minh Tran has just made the Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia 2024 list announced on Thursday.



Vietnamese Brian Minh Tran has just made the Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia 2024 list announced on May 16.

Brian Minh Tran, 22, is a third-year student at VinUni University majoring in business management.

Tran is honoured in Forbes' Social Impact category.

According to Forbes, Brian Minh Tran is co-founder and chair of UpYouth, a non-profit organisation that supports student entrepreneurs in Vietnam.

Founded in 2020, UpYouth hosts workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs with guest speakers from well-established startups and companies like Vingroup, Vietnam's largest company by market capitalisation, and Vietnamese startup Sky Mavis, developer of blockchain-based video game Axie Infinity. UpYouth says more than 30,000 students have benefited from its workshops. UpYouth also runs an incubator, which the organisation says has helped 30 student startups raise a combined USD3.50 million. Outside of UpYouth, Tran is assistant to the global deputy CEO at VinFast, the car unit of Vingroup.

Three other Vietnamese people were also named, including Dong Van Hung, 27, who owns a social food channel with over one million subscribers; 26-year-old Pham Tuan Huy, a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University; and 23-year-old fashion designer Phan Dang Hoang.
