Twenty-seven football players called for FIFA Days
Coach of the national football team Kim Sang Sik has called 27 players for training ahead of FIFA Days in June and the last two matches within the second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup AFC qualification in Asia, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said on May 27.
Of the players, there are familiar names including Nguyen Filip, Dang Van Lam, Bui Tien Dung, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Tien Linh.
Midfielder To Van Vu will mark his return after a long period of absence since February 2022.
Coach Kim Sang Sik also gave opportunities to many outstanding young players in recent times such as goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan, defender Phan Tuan Tai, midfielders Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Van Truong and Nguyen Thai Son, strikers Tran Ngoc Son, Nguyen Van Tung and Bui Vi Hao.
However, midfielder Que Ngoc Hai and defender Doan Van Hau are unable to return this time due to injuries.
The Vietnamese team is scheduled to gather from June 1. They will have five days to prepare for the match with Philippines in My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on June 6. After that, they will travel to Iran for their last match at the second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup AFC qualification./
