According to the authorities, the Kbec Vina Vina Company, headquartered in Phu My Town, has failed to build a waste treatment facility that meets the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's requirements. They have also discharged wastewater containing toxic substances 10 times higher than the allowed level to the Giao Keo Spring.

With such violations, Kbec Vina was fined VND1.2 billion and another VND67.50 million more for wastewater testing fees.

Kbec Vina is a wholly South Korean-invested company specialising in waste treatment in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

Local people have constantly complained about the company causing environmental pollution.

Last year, the company was fined VND1.3 billion and VND1.5 billion in March and September, respectively, for the same violations.
