Poor pre-planning leaves Binh Thuan Expressway facing litter
The Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway in the southern province of Binh Thuan is suffering from excessive litter.
Speaking with Dantri/Dtinews, the director of the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway Project, Pham Quoc Huy, said that local authorities would soon allocate land for building rest areas.
Bottles, drink cans, plastic bags, and all kinds of food wrappers can be seen on both sides of the expressways.
There are currently no rest areas on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway which runs 100 kilometres through four districts in Binh Thuan. Because the route lacks services since it opened last May, drivers stop along the emergency lanes for a rest.
Bottles, drink cans, plastic bags, and all kinds of food wrappers can be seen on both sides of the expressways. A lot of the litter was caused over the busy Tet holiday period. The large amount of rubbish has created a bad odour in the area.

Speaking with Dantri/Dtinews, the director of the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway Project, Pham Quoc Huy, said that local authorities would soon allocate land for building rest areas.
"It is expected that the two rest areas on this expressway will be completed by the first quarter of 2025," he said.
