Over the past four days, torrential rain has flooded as many as 193 houses and 400ha of crops in Cao Bang City.
Nong Van Vu, 40, in De Tham Ward in Cao Bang City said that his family has been provided with necessities from local authorities as his house is being deeply inundated.

"My residential area started seeing flooding from around 9:30 pm on August 23. My house is a metre under water,” Vu added.
Many old people and children have been relocated to safe places.
Lots of roads in Cao Bang remain under water, blocking traffic, including National Highway 3.

According to the Cao Bang People’s Committee, heavy rain has inundated 588 hectares of rice and crops and 344 houses. Many localities have suffered from landslides, including Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Trung Khanh and Bao Lam.
Rain has been forecasted to stop in the northern region of Vietnam from today, August 26.
