A bridge across Red River linking Hanoi and the northern midland province of Phu Tho will be opened to traffic on October 7 after two years of construction.

A bridge across Red River linking Hanoi and the northern midland province of Phu Tho will be opened to traffic on October 7 after two years of construction.

With investment of more than VND1.46 trillion (USD63.47 million), the bridge connecting Phu Tho’s Viet Tri City and Hanoi’s Ba Vi District is nearly 10 kilometres.

Viet Tri-Phu Tho Bridge costs USD63.47 million


The toll station will be located at Phu Cuong Commune of Ba Vi District, with the fee starting from as little as VND35,000 (USD1.59) per car for a duration of 20 years when the bridge officially opens to traffic.

The bridge will run through Phu Son, Thai Hoa, Phu Dong, Van Thang and Phu Cuong of Ba Vi District and Tho Son Ward of Viet Tri City.

The bridge has almost been ready for being put into operation


The new bridge is expected to help facilitate traffic between Hanoi and Phu Tho, contributing to boosting local economic development and tapping the potential for tourism and service of the province.
