"I always wanted to make my home and surrounding areas colourful to welcome the Lunar New Year," Hanh said. "This year, I've built a two-storey bamboo house and decorated it with various Tet-themed items, including peach and apricot blossoms, parallel sentences, and images of Vietnamese pork sausage and traditional Chung cakes."
According to Hanh, she spent nearly VND20 million to build the house, and some neighbours helped with the construction and decorative work.
"Many people have also brought bonsai and flower trees, decorative lights, and other items to make the house more colourful," she said. "And we've completed it after 10 days working together."
Hanh said that the Tet House has become a popular place for people to meet, enjoy the the Tet atmosphere, or take photos.
People come to take photos at the house.
"It has brought us closer during this special festival," she said.
