The average life-span of Vietnamese people has reached 75.6 which is the second highest in Southeast Asia according to the latest survey by the World Economic Forum.

Vietnam's average life expectancy touches 75.6 - 1

The survey's result showed that Vietnam ranked second in the region after Singapore which has average life expectancy of 82.6. Malaysia was third at 74.7 and Thailand the fourth at 74.4.

The country ranks 56 out of 138 countries and territories surveyed by the WEF.

Japan leads the list with a life expectancy of 86.3 thanks to their healthy diets. Hong Kong follows at 84. Experts said that steamed food, tea and martial arts have helped Hong Kong people live a healthier and longer life.

The top 10 countries with highest life expectancy also include Spain (83.6), Switzerland (82.8), Italy (82.7), Singapore (82.6), France (82.4), Australia (82.3), Israel (82.2), and Luxembourg (82.2).

Meanwhile, most of the countries with lowest life expectancy lie in Africa, with Lesotho the lowest at 49.7, Sierra Leone 50.9, and Nigeria 52.8.
