Customs officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City have raided a large marijuana smuggling ring operating between the US to Vietnam.

To avoid being found, the group had divided the marijuana and hid in food or cosmetics parcels sent to Vietnam at various time, the department said, adding that 42 parcels have been found containing nearly 57 kilos of marijuana had been detected and seized since the beginning of this year.
The department said that marijuana was mostly grown in Canada and locations in the US including Seattle, San Francisco or Houston and then sold to other countries including Vietnam.
