Vietnamese attractions honoured at ao dai show

Famous beauty spots in Vietnam were featured in 18 ao dai collections which were introduced at the Hoi An Festival.

Famous beauty spots in Vietnam were featured in 18 ao dai collections which were introduced at the Hoi An Festival on June 14.

 

Hoi An Memories Stage

Many famous designers also participated in the fashion show held on the stage of Hoi An Memories shows including Minh Hanh, Ngoc Han, Ha Duy, Cao Minh Tien, Cong Huan and Cao Duy. The history of Vietnam and the beauty of the women was retold via ao dai collections.

 

Hoi An Ancient Town Collection

The intricate and modern stage also helped bring out the pride and values of the traditional ao dais and famous scenery and locations in Vietnam.

Designer Minh Hanh, director of the fashion show, said Hoi An was one of the few places that still maintain many traditional values which makes Hoi An stands out.

"It’s more meaningful when the show was held there and it will bring new value to the ao dais. The ao dai fashion show, combining both traditional and modern features, has brought us from the past to the present and the future," she said.

 

My Son Sanctuary Collection

300 dancers and models walked the runways. Iconic constructions and locations features on the ao dais are the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Trang An Site, Ha Long Bay and My Son Sanctuary among others.

Designer Chu La said Hoi An Ancient Town is like a living being with superficial landscapes that change constantly and traditions of the daily lives. Designer Cao Duy and his My Son Sanctuary collection hopes to promote the sanctuary's architecture and history and bring more visitors to the site. Designer Ngoc Han collaborated with painter Pham Trinh to realise the collection about Hue royal court music from silk, chiffon and brocade materials.

"We are all very pleasantly surprised by the stage and the directors and actors of Hoi An Memories Theatre. They had helped raise the image of ao dais and beautiful Vietnamese landscapes. Our collections have never looked so good before," Han said.
