After 3 consecutive tough losses, Le Thuy Hai expressed his hope to resign from his position as Ninh Binh football team's head coach. The reason behind his intent to resign comes from a number of Ninh Binh's unsuccessful matches under the coaching and direction of Hai.

According to Hai, in accepting to work with Ninh Binh, he had prepared himself for the difficulties and challenges he might have to cope with. However, he later realised the football team lacked a lot of strength and basic foundation.
Le Thuy Hai had a favourable start with Ninh Binh, when the team defeated Hoa Phat Hanoi 2-0. However, the victory did not last long as the team kept being defeated, even under Hai, the highest paid coach of of the V-League. At the same time, many players suffered from injuries, further diminishing the spirit of the team.
Ninh Binh first lost to Nam Dinh at the National Cup, then to Binh Duong (0-4) and to Da Nang (0-1) at the V-League Cup. Many fans and supporters of the team became impatient and started to criticise Le Thuy Hai for his inability to direct and improve the team. High expectations were placed on Hai as many believed he would take Ninh Binh to a new level in the 2010 V-League.
With heavy pressure placed on his shoulders, Le Thuy Hai submitted his resignation on April 12, but it has not been approved by Ninh Binh Club authorities. According to Tran Tien Dai, the Managing Director of the team, "Ninh Binh has had quite a few unsuccessful matches recently, but the Club is still holding faith in the coach."
Hai became Ninh Binh's coach in mid-March with a monthly salary of VND 100 million (5,175 USD), the highest in Vietnam so far, and a mission to lead the team to the top 5 by the end of the 2010 football season. Beside a record high salary contract, Ninh Binh also promised to reward Hai a bonus of VND 1 billion (51,735 USD) if the team made the top 3 in the 2010 V-League.
Ninh Binh Club's authorities had a discussion with Le Thuy Hai yesterday to determine the reasons behind those losses and find a solution to strengthen the team.
