The 8th kite competition on Cua Dai beach in the world cultural heritage town of Hoi An proved a popular event.

A flock of swans
The competition was held on May 19 by the Hoi An Centre for Culture and Sports.
The competition drew the participation of 177 contestants from 14 kite clubs, including HCM City, Vung Tau, Hue, Hanoi and Hoi An.
The most prominent kite resembled the national flag and measured nearly 50 metres in length from the Saigon Kite Club.
First prize was presented to Vietnam Kite Joint Stock Company for a kite resembling a bronze drum.
A kite club from HCM City’s District No. 5 and Anh Vu Kite Company won second prize.
