The three-day festival, the first of its kind to be held in Vietnam by the municipal Department of Tourism and Golden Communication Group (GCG), is a modern cultural and tourism event that combines fashion and technology.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, GCG General Director Nguyen Minh Huong said more than 250 Vietnamese and foreign models will join the festival.
"The 670-metre-long and 64-metre-wide street will be designed as a giant catwalk for displaying the latest designs by over 30 local and foreign designers," Huong said. "The fashion collections will explore different themes of Far Eastern Identity, New Wave and Future Star.
About 100 domestic garment-textile businesses are expected to participate in the festival, which will also showcase the latest global fashion.
Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Bui Ta Hoang Vu said he hoped the festival would become an annual tourism event, contributing to attracting greater numbers of domestic and foreign tourists to the city.
