The European Music Festival 2012 will take place in Hanoi and HCM City from November 22-December 2.

This year’s festival will feature musicians from Belgium’s Wallonia-Brussels, Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom, embracing classical music, jazz, and pop.
The festival will be opened in Hanoi on 22 November with a performance by German pianists, Duo d'Accord, and in HCM City on November 23.
The Duo premiered their performance in Vietnam at the Europe Day Concert in 2011. The two pianists Lucia Huang and Sebastian Euler from Duo d'Accord play virtuoso works for two pianos. In addition to their own arrangements, the Duo performs works composed specifically for them and revivals of classic pieces.
Two piano concerts by Hungarian pianist György Oravecz and Polish pianist Karol Radziwonowicz will no doubt captivate classical music fans.
The Manuel Hermia Trio from Wallonia Brussels and the British band Empirical that are expected to explore sophisticated jazz melodies.
Prize-winning Dutch singer-songwriter Yori Swart will also perform.
The festival will be closed on December 2 with a performance by the Swedish artist Emma Tranströmer. The mezzo soprano Ms Emma Tranströmer is the daughter of the Swedish Nobel Laureate for Literature Tomas Tranströmer. She performs musical interpretations of her father’s acclaimed poetry putting each strophe in focus.
Free tickets will be delivered at the Goethe Institutes in Hanoi and HCM City from November 19.
