The Vietnamese entertainment industry has experienced quite a vivacious year, with several scandals, the most of which is rumoured to have been a stunt.

In March 2011, Supermodel Ngoc Quyen released a number of nude photos. She said that it was for drawing attention to the environment, and "had not motive for profit behind it." In her statement, she said that she would like people to care as much for the earth as they do for their bodies.
Still, her photos had caused public controversy, and most of her audience did not find such provocative pictures appropriate; many thought that her claim of environmental protection was a farce to release 'sexy' photos.
Even though these photos were released in March, they are still getting a lot of attention on the internet up until now.
The scandal has only helped her career, as she's received more offers and endorsements since.

While Binh Minh and his family kept silent, Thanh Thao did the opposite, talking openly about the details of their life.
Not only stopping at interviews, Thanh Thao also wrote an autobiography in which she spared one chapter to say about her love memories with Binh Minh.
While telling the story to the public, Thanh Thao affirmed that she was silent looking how Binh Minh was successful as she loved him so much and that she meant to scald Binh Minh for leaving her alone struggling in life over the past years. She may intentionally not understand that Binh Minh’s silence was a big answer to her complaint.

After leaking her sexy photos while taken with a group of friends in Thailand, Ngoc Trinh was loosing her prestige in her native country. After being strongly criticised for the "indecent" pictures in Vietnam, the crowned Miss Vietnam International actually gained more publicity.
Ly Nha Ky, an infamous ‘juggler’

Ly Nha Ky is another example. Called the "Infamous Juggler", she is considered by many to be seeking to prove that she is both beautiful and talented. She started an acting career a few years ago.
There are allegations that she purposefully started a rumour of a love triangle between the actor Viet Anh and his wife.
Although she caught attention with her performance this year in a historic screen drama about Dien Bien Phu, her chest became more subject for discussion than the actual battle.
In late 2011, Ly Nha Ky once again drew controversy. After being selected as the country’s tourism ambassador she was accused of having fake degree.

Despite pubic objection, Ly Nha Ky helped in the campaign for votes to make Ha Long Bay one of the "new the world’s wonders".
One thing that angered some people was that after her "charity work", she appeared at a show wearing a skirt that was worth billions of VND.
