Huynh Thi Dung is struggling with different diseases.
With pale skin and swollen, ulcerated legs, Dung is battling multiple severe illnesses, including cirrhosis, diabetes, and heart failure.
She lives with her husband, Nguyen Sot, 58, who has a mild mental condition. The couple resides in an ageing 15-square-metre house devoid of any valuable possessions.

Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, a neighbour, described them as slow and struggling with communication.
Lien says the couple has a married daughter living in Khanh Hoa Province. However, she is also unemployed, relying on her husband's meagre earnings as a manual labourer.
"Their lives were already tough, and now, with illness, it has become even harder. Dung was recently diagnosed with cirrhosis, causing fluid retention in her abdomen. Due to financial difficulties, she can't afford hospital treatment and has resorted to using cheap herbal medicine at home," Lien shared.
"Her health is deteriorating rapidly. She spends the whole day sitting outside, looking utterly helpless. Everyone feels sorry for her. My neighbours and I often contribute food to help them survive," she added.
Struggling to afford medical treatment and housing
Local official Phan Tien Trinh confirmed that Dung's family is classified as impoverished. Both she and her husband have cognitive limitations and rely solely on a monthly social welfare allowance of VND750,000 per person.
Their home is in severe disrepair, leaking in multiple places whenever it rains. This year, the family has been selected for government support to build a new house. However, they have hesitated to accept the assistance due to their inability to cover the required co-payment.
"We've initiated fundraising efforts to support Dung, but so far, we have only collected a few million dong. We sincerely hope that through Dantri/Dtinews, kind-hearted readers will extend their generosity to help rebuild their home and provide Dung with some funds for her medical treatment," Trinh expressed.
