Sua Café in Hoi An Ward prepares more than 100 free vegetarian meals daily for local flood-hit victims.
A restaurant in Hoi An Ward, Danang City, has been providing free meals to help local residents affected by recent flooding.
Huynh Dac Thanh, 45, owner of the Sua Café on Le Hong Phong Street, said the initiative began on October 27 and will continue until the floodwaters recede. The restaurant prepares more than 100 free vegetarian meals daily, distributed in two sessions.
“All the expenses are covered by the restaurant. We try to make the meals nutritious and balanced, hoping to share a bit of comfort with those who cannot cook for themselves due to the flooding,” Thanh said.
The meals are neatly packed and placed on tables outside the restaurant for easy pickup.
Nguyen Thi Hong, a 65-year-old local resident, expressed her gratitude: “The water rose overnight on October 26 and flooded my house. I had to stay with a neighbour. Receiving these warm, carefully packed meals really touched my heart.”

Many parts of Hoi An remain submerged under 0.5 to 2 metres of water on October 26 after heavy rainfall combined with upstream hydropower discharge.
Local authorities have set up warning barriers in low-lying areas and advised residents to limit travel to avoid accidents. Evacuation plans are being prepared in case the flooding persists to ensure the safety of both people and property.
