>> Incompetent constructors make life hell for locals
One of Hanoi’s outer ring roads has been turned into a rubbish-strewn muddy track.
Illegal waste has been continuously dumped on the 200 section of Belt Road No. 3 running from Dai Kim Ward, Hoang Mai District, to Tan Trieu Commune in Thanh Tri District.
Bui Thi Hang, a local resident in Trieu Khuc Village, Tan Trieu Commune, said, “Trucks have been dumping waste during the two years since Belt Road No. 3 was open to traffic. The city’s entire waste seems to be just dumped out here. On rainy days, the mud reaches people’s knees. Every night, trucks pour out waste along the road. All the locals know about this, but Tan Trieu and Dai Kim communal authorities just seem to ignore the problem.”
To compound local misery, Trieu Khuc Village byways have been left as rutted mud tracks as contractors installing underground cabling have not bothered to repair the roads.
