Hanoi police recently raided an “eco-tourism” site in Long Bien district, finding various of species of rare wildlife.

The municipal environment police, together with the city’s forest management force, found 11 forest animals, that were illicitly raised at the site in Ngoc Thuy ward, after carrying out an inspection on April 13.
The seized animals include one Asian golden cat, scientifically known as Felis Temmincki, four peacocks, three red pheasants, one silver pheasant, and two Lady Amherst’s pheasants.
All the named wildlife are included in the list of endangered forest animals in pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 32/2006/NĐ-CP dated March 30, 2006, according to the police.
Pham Xuan Que, Director of Xuan Que Limited Company, which is the owner of the site, has been yet to produce any documents to prove the origin of these animals.
All the seized animals have been handed over the Soc Son Wildlife Rescue Centre for proper care.
