The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has officially launched the 2025 Tourism Stimulus Programme themed Vietnam – Travel to Love, aiming to attract international tourists, particularly from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland, which will benefit from visa exemptions from March 1 to December 31 this year.
The programme will feature a variety of promotional activities, incentives, and key events. Notably, tourist attractions and heritage sites will offer free or discounted entrance fees, while accommodation, transportation, dining, and entertainment services will have discounts of up to 50%. In addition, diverse travel packages will be designed to match international visitors’ interests, ranging from cultural and culinary tourism to eco-tourism, golf, and luxury retreats.
Discounts of up to 50% on various services
The 2025 Tourism Stimulus Programme features a wide range of activities, events, and initiatives aimed at achieving the target of receiving 22-23 million international tourists and 120-130 million domestic tourists this year. It is expected to accelerate growth in the tourism industry, create momentum in the coming years and keep pace with Vietnam’s economic development in a new era.
The programme introduces attractive price incentives, services, and enhanced experiences for tourists. Accordingly, tourist attractions, historical sites, and scenic spots will offer free or discounted entrance fees for visitors. In addition, various services such as tourist transportation, accommodation, dining, entertainment, shopping, and wellness services will be eligible for discounts of up to 50%, depending on the specific category and terms set by tourism businesses, transportation companies, and service providers.
A variety of activities and events will be organized to attract tourists, including prominent forums and international conferences hosted by Vietnam, such as the second ASEAN Future Forum, the fourth Summit of the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G), the 16th UN Ministerial Conference on Trade and Development, the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, the Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM Hanoi 2025, and the International Travel Expo (ITE) Ho Chi Minh City 2025.
To boost tourism, the government will enhance cooperation between destinations, service providers, and businesses to create attractive travel stimulus packages. These will include cultural & heritage tourism packages, culinary tourism packages, golf tourism packages, ecotourism, and agricultural and rural tourism packages.
Cooperation among localities and businesses in the tourism supply chain, spanning transportation, shopping, dining, sightseeing, accommodation, wellness, conferences, sports, and events, will be strengthened to create comprehensive and appealing travel deals while encouraging community participation in tourism activities.
Focus on key international markets
The ministry will intensify tourism promotion efforts in key markets such as Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
Under Resolution 11 recently passed by the National Assembly, visa exemptions for a 45-day temporary stay upon entry for tourism purposes will be granted to citizens of those three countries from March 1 to December 31, 2025, to stimulate tourism development.
The Ministry will enhance communication and promotion efforts to attract international tourists to Vietnam, especially tourism promotion campaigns in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. It will organize Vietnam Culture and Tourism Weeks in Poland and the Czech Republic this year to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and these two EU countries.
At the same time, both domestic and international airlines are encouraged to increase flight frequencies and launch new direct routes to accommodate the rising number of international visitors.
A major highlight of the 2025 Tourism Stimulus Programme is the integration of technology with tourism promotion through a dedicated tourism stimulus website, where businesses and localities can update information on promotions, special events, and travel deals.
Furthermore, digital marketing efforts will be stepped up across social media platforms and Vietnam’s official tourism website to maximize outreach to global travelers.
The programme also encourages international travel agencies in Vietnam to organize visa-free tours for eligible travelers. Participating travel agencies must ensure high service quality and work in collaboration with airlines, hotels, and tourist attractions to provide competitive and appealing travel packages.
