Vietnam Airlines is listed among the world’s safest airlines for 2025
According to the list, the Vietnamese national carrier ranked 22nd out of a total of 25 airlines.
Sharon Petersen, CEO of AirlineRatings, shared that Vietnam Airlines has not recorded a fatal accident in 27 years, nor has it had any serious incidents.
Currently, the airline operates a fleet of 100 modern aircraft with an average age of under 10 years. It has passed its IOSA certification without fail since 2006.
“In addition to this the country of Vietnam has also made huge strides in aviation safety with better airports, navigation system upgrades and far more stringent protocols. All of this combined secures them a spot in our top 25,” she noted.
Top place on the list went to Air New Zealand, which also won in 2024 and 2022.
In making its annual evaluation, AirlineRatings monitored a total of 385 global airlines by considering factors such as their incident record over recent years; fleet age; and the results of audits conducted by the governing body of aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and other aviation authorities.
Earlier, budget airline VietJet Air was also listed among the world’s 20 safest low-cost airlines by AirlineRatings.
