Petrol prices fall to the lowest in three years

Retail fuel prices dropped at 3 pm today, March 6, with petrol prices in Vietnam falling to their lowest level for the past three years.

The price adjustment was made following the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

The price of biofuel E5 RON92 declined by VND690 to VND20,400 per litre, while RON95 fell by VND710 to VND19,960 per litre.

Diesel dropped by VND620 per litre to VND18,330, kerosene decreased by VND760 VND per litre to VND18,570 per litre, and mazut declined by VND460 per kilogramme to VND17,150.

RON 95 petrol prices have recorded two consecutive declines and are now at their lowest level over three years, comparable to June 2021.

Since the beginning of the year, RON 95 petrol has increased five times and decreased five times, while diesel has followed the same pattern with five rises and five drops.

The two ministries have again decided not to use the Petrol Price Stabilisation Fund in this adjustment.
