As the Lunar New Year 2025 festival (Tet) is drawing near, many international travelers passing through Noi Bai International Airport are pleasantly surprised and delighted by colourful lion dances along with drum and gong performances at both the international and domestic terminals.
To make the Tet atmosphere more lively, the airport administration stages special performances to welcome passengers.
Many passengers, including foreigners, are captivated by exciting lion dances and gong performances. Swaying to the drum beats, many passengers use their phones to capture adorable moments at the gateway to the capital.
The festive vibe fills the airport’s Terminal 2. The drum beats, resonating gongs, and graceful lion dance movements create an exciting Lunar New Year atmosphere.
In particular, the lion dance at the departure gate of Terminal 2 attracts the attention of visitors.
A series of activities, including lion dances, giving stuffed animals to children, crafting workshops with recycled materials, and piano performances, are gifts the airport offers passengers as warm New Year wishes for Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year.
International travelers enjoy posing for photos with the lively lions, dragons, and playful mascots.
The sight of majestic, friendly lions teasing guests, and Ông Địa (a jovial deity figure) handing out stuffed animals to children brings joy and memorable experiences to visitors at the airport these days.
As part of these activities, on February 3 (the sixth day of the Lunar New Year), the airport is scheduled to distribute calligraphy works written by master calligraphers as special gifts to passengers.
Traditional music performances will also be organized to welcome passengers on the Lunar New Year Day.
“I’ve been to many modern airports worldwide, but here I am surprised by the special lion dance,” shares an international visitor.
The airport is organizing a special gift-giving programme for passengers traveling during the New Year.
These gifts serve as a token of gratitude to the passengers who have traveled through Noi Bai airport.
These days, Noi Bai International Airport handles an average of 500 flights per day, serving over 80,000 passengers, including over 40,000 international travelers.
It has developed plans to meet the increasing travel demand of people during the 2025 Lunar New Year.
