The remains were found over the past two days at Tan Nhon Preschool in O Mon District’s Tan Thoi Commune with artefacts such as buttons, parachute cords, military belts and bone fragments buried at a depth of 1.70 to 2 metres.

The area where the remains were found
According to local authorities, these remains may belong to soldiers who died during the resistance against the French and American invaders. It is speculated that their comrades brought them here for temporary burial.
The remains have been handed over to the district’s Department of the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for reburial at the local war cemeteries.
Local authorities will continue expanding the search for remains in the surrounding area.
