Vietnam to roll out vaccines for emergency cases in Q1

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said they had approved Astra Zeneca Covid-19 vaccine from the UK for use in urgent cases. Astra Zeneca will provide about 30 million doses in 2021. The ministry is still working with other firms to ensure more vaccines for Vietnam including Pfizer and Moderna.
Vietnamese firms were asked to continue with their tests and manufacturing of locally-made vaccines.
Nanogen has completed the first-stage trial for Nanocovax vaccine and will start the second stage in February.
The Institute of Vaccines and Biological Medical has started the first stage of the trial for their Covivax vaccine on January 21. The first stage will end in late February and the second stage will start in March.
