Driver installs passenger partition in his car
However, other people felt worried that such changes might not be accepted by the authorities. The taxi firm which featured the partition said it was installed by the driver himself because the firm would not be able to register their car fleet with it.
On February 19, Nguyen Huu Tri, deputy head of Vietnam Register, said he supported the driver and would propose to adjust the regulations to make taxi firms install partitions to protect their drivers. Moreover, the cost would not be much so the plan was feasible, he said.
Firms that have installed passenger partitions should work with the Vietnam Register on the quality of the partitions. The partitions must not hinder the driver's ability and make sure that in case of emergency, both the driver and passenger can still get out.
