Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed Vietnam’s development policy towards a sustainable economy, which gives a priority to the development of hi-tech zones.

The State President made the announcement on Wednesday in Hanoi while warmly welcoming Mr. Nagamori Shigenobu, Chief Executive Officer and President of Nidec Corporation, the Japanese investor of a hi-tech zone project in Ho Chi Minh City.
State President Triet hoped that Nidec and other Japanese investors would continue to strengthen their presence in Vietnam for better benefits.
Mr. Triet was glad to witness robust progresses in the bilateral ties between Vietnam and Japan while treasuring the valuable support of the latter for the former in terms of ODA provision.
Nidec CEO Nagamori Shigenobu briefed the host leader about the implementation of the hi-tech project in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2010, Nidec committed itself to implementing the project on schedule and pledged to add US $500 million to the project, said Mr. Nagamori Shigenobu.
The Nidec CEO took the occasion to suggest Vietnam pay more attention to the development of auxiliary industries and encourage small and medium-sized manufacturers of components for assembly industries.
