Vietnam placed fourth in Asian Women’s Volleyball Champs

Vietnamese women were defeated 0-3 by their hosts Kazakhstan, ranking fourth in the 2012 Asian Women’s Volleyball Championships on September 16. Competing with stronger rivals, they couldn’t make a surprise as they did against Japan and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the previous rounds and lost in all three sets with scores of 18-25, 20-25 and 16-25.
Fourth position is the highest achievement Vietnamese women’s volleyball team has gained in the Asian champs.
The tournament was held in Kazakhstan from September 10-16 with the participation of eight strong teams from China, Thailand, Japan, the RoK, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Taiwan (China) and Iran.
