Vietnam’s surprising 3-2 win against Japan has landed them in the 2012 Asian Women's Cup Volleyball Championship quarterfinals, which is being held in Kazakhstan.

Despite a good performance by the Vietnamese team in the first set, Japan won with a score of 25-20. In the second set, however, Vietnam bounced back to defeat Japan, 25-23.
With all players in good form, Japan stole the game in the third set with a score of 17-25.
Triumphantly, Vietnam produced a spectacular comeback in the last two sets, outplaying their opponents with scores of 25-13 and 17-15, respectively.
With the win, Vietnam was positioned second in group B, and will take on the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the quarterfinal round.
The Asian Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship has attracted eight strong teams from China, Thailand, Japan, the RoK, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Taiwan (China) and Iran.
Players are competing in Almaty City, Kazakhstan, from September 10-16.
