Vietnam on Saturday reported 3,345 fresh Covid-19 cases, 474 less than the previous day, taking the tally to over 10.67 million, the Ministry of Health has said.
According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 55 out of 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (630), Vinh Phuc (222), Phu Thọ (179), Bac Ninh (153), and Tuyen Quang (148).
As of Saturday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.67 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,591,093), HCM City (608,699), Nghe An (482,493), Bac Giang (385,717), and Binh Duong (383,507).
On May 7, an additional 2,288 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.31 million.
On Saturday evening, no death related to Covid-19 was announced. Death toll stayed at 43,055.
Vietnam on May 6 administered 188,703 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, raising the total number of doses given to local people to over 215 million.
