The HCM City’s traffic police has announced to restrict vehicles on two streets in the city centre to facilitate the construction of a stage and stands for the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification on April 30.
According to the police, the stage and stands construction for the holiday events will take place in three phases. From now until May 12, certain sections of Pasteur Street will be temporarily shut for the construction, particularly the stretch from Le Duan to Alexandre De Rhodes and from Han Thuyen to Le Duan.
Starting April 17, the central median on Le Duan Street, from Nguyen Binh Khiem to the Cong Xa Paris roundabout, will be removed to serve rehearsals, preliminary reviews, full-dress rehearsals, and the official parade. Following the holiday, the site will be dismantled and fully restored between May 1 and 12.
During this time, vehicles passing through the area may opt for alternative routes, including Pasteur, Le Duan, Pham Ngoc Thach (or Hai Ba Trung)-Vo Thi Sau, to access District 3, Phu Nhuan, or Tan Son Nhat Airport. Another suggested route is Pasteur, Nguyen Du, Truong Dinh-Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, leading to Districts 3, 5, or 10.
People can choose the route through Pasteur-Han Thuyen, Cong Xa Paris, Le Duan to come to Binh Thanh and Thu Duc districts. For the direction to Binh Thanh and Thu Duc, drivers can opt Pasteur, Ly Tu Trong and Ton Duc Thang.
