VATM handles over 578,600 flights in seven months

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) handled 578,649 flights in the first seven months of 2026, up 6.7 per cent year on year and equivalent to more than 56 per cent of its annual target.

According to VATM, it maintained safe and efficient air traffic operations as demand from airlines continued to grow.

Revenue during the period reached nearly VND 2.94 trillion (USD 112 million), up more than 9 per cent from a year earlier, while pre-tax profit exceeded VND 572 billion (USD 21.7 million), or more than 74 per cent of the full-year target.

For the remainder of the year, VATM will focus on maintaining flight safety, forecasting traffic demand, improving service quality and accelerating the use of technology and infrastructure upgrades.

The corporation is also investing in air traffic control facilities, surveillance systems, communications and navigation equipment, and aviation meteorological services as part of its 2026 modernisation programme.

VATM said faster implementation of these projects would strengthen air traffic management capacity and prepare the system for longer-term aviation growth.
