The government has approved a project to build a VND1.4 trillion (USD61-million) cemetery in Hanoi for high-ranking officials.
The 120-hectare cemetery will be located in Yen Trung Commune, Thach That District, under the foot of Ba Vi Mountain which is some 40 kilometres (25 miles) to the west of the city centre.

The planning of Yen Trung cemetary
The new cemetery will house 2,200-2,500 graves. The construction of the state-funded project will be completed within three years.
The time for starting the project has not yet been disclosed, but Hanoi authorities said that they will work tightly with the Ministry of Construction to ensure the construction pace.
The 5.5-hectare Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi's Cau Giay District, which was put into use in 1982, has been fully occupied. The cemetery accommodates 1,200 war dead and around 400 leaders.
