The facilities, equipped with a dedicated barge berth and advanced cargo handling systems, can handle vessels up to 165,000 DWT (14,000 TEUS) and partially loaded vessels up to 200,000 DWT. Gantry cranes unload containers onto waiting trucks at the port. The trucks then carry the containers to the storage area, where the cranes lift them onto the ships.

This is a key project of Vietnam Maritime Corporation and Haiphong Port for Haiphong City's socio-economic development. Terminals 3 and 4's operation completes a six-berth system at Lach Huyen, serving the growing cargo needs of Haiphong and the northern region of Vietnam.
