The minister checked and compared prices to those in the market and stressed to the businesses functioning there the importance of providing a high quality goods and services at reasonable prices.
Minister Thang also bought some products at airport restaurants to observe the quality for himself.
Besides, he asked the airport management board to ensure security order, particularly the goods checking work, when Tet is nearing.
After the first inspection prices of at Terminal T1 early this August, the minister requested that the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and Vietnam Airlines check the prices and publish them via hotlines to collect opinions.
The last inspection was carried out by instruction of the minister indicated, and a number of products found to have been sold at prices much higher than that of their market value, while others were found to have unclear origins.
A price system at the airport using a ceiling has been suggested to deal with the situation.
