Vietnam Railway Transport JSC said the new rates took effect on March 8, applying to passenger tickets and freight services across its network.
The company said the adjustment was necessary as volatile global fuel markets have significantly increased transport operating costs.

According to Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), domestic diesel prices reached 30,230 dong per litre as of 3 pm on March 7.
The price was up 31.26 per cent compared with March 5 and 56.88 per cent higher than levels recorded on February 26.
The sharp increase has placed heavy pressure on fuel expenses for railway operations and logistics services, the company said.
Railway officials added that the fare adjustment had been carefully calculated to share part of the rising fuel burden while maintaining stable transport services.
Despite the price rise, the railway sector said it would continue ensuring safety, punctuality and convenience while improving services for both passengers and freight customers.
Updated information on ticket prices, freight tariffs and train schedules will be published through official railway communication channels, the company added.
