The water level in Chau Nhan Commune, Hung Nguyen District has fallen considerably, but many local residential areas are still suffering inundation.

Phu Xuan residential area is the most seriously submerged area in Chau Nhan. The flood water level has only receded 20-30 cm, marking the seventh day of isolation for local residents.

Nguyen Thi Tuat, 65, from Phu Xuan said that her family's entire poultry stock was swept away by the flooding. Much of her house’s furniture was also damaged.

Le Khanh Quang, chairman of Chau Nhan Commune, said that roughly 600 households in the locality were still isolated due to the serious inundation. Rescue forces have been arranged in key areas to prevent the risk of more severe flooding when it is rainy.

The same situation has been reported in Hung Loi Commune, Hung Nguyen District as 500 households are experiencing inundation.

The prolonged torrential rain has also submerged over 2,000 houses in Quynh Luu District in Nghe An.

Some days ago, a flash flood hit Ky Son District, killing a four-year-old child and leaving another missing. It washed away cars and local people’s possessions, spilt debris into buildings and houses, and blocked traffic on several roads.
