This is one of the events held to celebrate Hanoi's Liberation Day on October 10 and encourage people to exercise more. The tournament was started in March and has been organised in 30 districts and communes, attracting 353,843 participants.
Some 250 foreign participants from 20 embassies and international organisations in Hanoi took part. Most registered to sign on the peace flag and participated in 1,750 metres for women and 3,500 metres for men. Many participants also brought their children to run along with them.
Can Viet Anh, vice president of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations said the organisers should continue to expand the tournament to attract more foreign participants and make the competition more interesting.
There are also over 200 leaders and officials at various departments joined the tournament.
