Thermal power plant suspended for environmental pollution

Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant in the northern province of Hai Duong’s Pha Lai City has been suspended for 12 months for causing environmental pollution.

Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant in the northern province of Hai Duong’s Pha Lai City has been suspended for 12 months for causing environmental pollution.

The company has discharged emissions exceeding environmental parameters through the smokestack of production lines 1 and 2.

The total dust discharged through Production Line 1’s smokestack exceeded permitted levels by 3.35 times. The second production line surpassed the permitted levels by 2.37 times and NOx exceeds 1.34 times.

The firm was also fined VND3.92 billion (USD170,212) for the violations.
