The Junior Footballer prize went to midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet from Hanoi T&T and the Foreign Player of the Year was awarded to prolific forward Gaston Merlo from SHB Danang.
The first Golden Ball was won by former striker Le Huynh Duc in 1995 when he played for the former Ho Chi Minh City Police team.
