The list of priority projects was recently released by the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee as part of preparations to attract new investors.

Under the plan, the province aims to develop golf courses ranging from 18 to 36 holes over the next five years.

Four of the projects will feature 36-hole courses, each with estimated investment of more than VND 1 trillion (about USD 39 million). These are planned in Halong, Hoang Tien, Nhu Thanh and Hai Long communes, as well as Hai Linh Ward.

Another six projects involve 18-hole courses with estimated investment of about VND 540 billion (about USD 21 million) each. They are planned in Ba Dinh, Cac Son, Cong Chinh, Lam Son, Sao Vang, Cam Luong, Co Lung and Cam Tu communes and Hai Binh Ward.

A separate 27-hole golf course, with projected investment of around VND 810 billion (about USD 32 million), is planned in Dong Quang Ward near the centre of the former Thanh Hoa city area.

According to provincial authorities, eight of the 11 projects have already been included in planning, while three are being proposed for addition as part of adjustments to the provincial master plan.

The Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Nghi Son Economic Zone Authority have been assigned to act as focal points for providing information to potential investors.

According to the Thanh Hoa Department of Finance, two projects, the Dong Quang golf course and another in former Tho Xuan District, are being prioritised for early implementation due to favourable transport links and proximity to key tourism areas.

The investment list also includes more than 100 projects in sectors such as manufacturing, innovation, urban infrastructure, energy, environment and healthcare.

The largest project on the list is the Dong Nam Urban Area in Quang Phu Ward, covering more than 1,800 hectares with estimated investment of VND 120 trillion (about USD 4.7 billion).
