The US Embassy in Hanoi and US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have announced the Summer 2023 Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) programs for scholars and secondary school educators.
The programs will be open for highly motivated and experienced Vietnamese university lecturers, researchers, and secondary school educators aged between 30-50.
Study of the US Institutes for Scholars and Secondary Educators are intensive post-graduate level academic programs that provide foreign university faculty and secondary educators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of US society, culture, values, and institutions. The goal of the Institutes is to strengthen curricula and to enhance the quality of teaching about the US at academic institutions abroad.
The SUSI program will provide multinational groups of experienced and highly motivated foreign university faculty, researchers, secondary school educators and administrators, practitioners, and policymakers with a deeper understanding of US society, culture, values, and institutions.
The program will take place at various colleges, universities, and academic institutions throughout the United States over the course of five-to-six weeks beginning in June 2023. Each Institute includes a four-week academic residency component and, if possible, a one-week integrated study tour to another region of the United States.

All participant costs, including program administration, international and domestic travel and ground transportation, housing and subsistence costs, book, cultural, postal and incidental allowances will be sponsored by the US Department of State.
The application deadline is 11:59PM, Sunday, December 18, 2022 (Vietnam time). Selections will be announced in early April 2023.
